I am talking about Vermeer, Bosch, and Bruegel the Elder. It is not just craft. They have removed themselves from the painting completely. When you do that, you are in a completely different mindspace. What artists lack in the modern era is that itself.
Is it possible to remove yourself completely from a painting?
Has Da Vinci done that?
No. His craft is superb. But he hasn't completely removed himself. What you read in his painting is his unconscious. In Monlisa it is his anima. In fact, he hasn't elevated himself from the gender pyramid in his deep unconscious.
Is Rembrandt able to do that?
No. He is full of himself.
A creation must be born from the seat of the soul. That is from the "self." Not from the "ego"
The western depiction of Jesus is a classic example. These are mainly egocentric.
But the Byzantine iconography is entirely different. That is why it is art.
Am I biased in my opinion?
I don't think so.
Did Van Gogh do that?
Yes, he did. That is mainly because his "ego" has become insufferable to his "self."
That man has sanity. Most people don't get it.
Being an artist is not about craft. It is about you. What you are becoming in that process.
Midjourney can craft shit perfectly—100 times better. But to percieve and reinterpret something through a human lens is different. And to perceive and reinterpret through the lens of "self" is totally different. Now, that is your actual Job. Not to place a toilet and call it art. That is ego centric. To whom are you communicating? A man must only communicate with his "self"
What did Jesus ask Pilate?
"Is this question coming from you or from others"
What did Jesus ask Herod?
Nothing. Because he knows he is a clown.
We are dealing with ultimate truth in here.
IN ART YOU ARE DEALING WITH THE ULTIMATE TRUTH
